Compact E-O Testing Unit (CTU)

The CTU is a compact Electro-Optical device, used to verify the optical parallelism alignment between several optical instruments (including cameras and lasers), that are integrated in Payloads or in Multi Camera Systems. 

This optical verification process is performed by emitting a few collimated optical beams in the IR and Visible ranges from the CTU. These beams are accurately parallel to an on-board laser emitted from the UUT system. 

The CTU can be used in laboratory or in field environment. Its operation is passive and does not requires any batteries or other external power.
Each CTU is customized designed for the specific UUT’s mechanical sizes and interface.

FEATURES

  • Passive operation:
    The CTU operation is completely passive, with no external power required.
  • High accuracy:
    The IR and Visible emitted beams are highly parallel with respect to the incoming laser beam.
  • Custom design:
    The CTU architecture design is flexible to adapt to a variety of Multi-Camera system or Payloads.  The mechanical interface is customized to fit each UUT.
  • Designed for field level deployment:
    The CTU design is “A-Thermal” (i.e. designed to be not-influenced by changes in environment temperatures), over a broad range of operating temperatures typically encountered in field use.
  • Side shields for eye safety:
    The CTU may include a hood to ensure EYE SAFE operation.
